This exhibition comes after sitting with wonder and exploring the balance of light and darkness in my
previous work. After reconnecting with my inner child in Cosmic Child (2024), and giving form to duality in
Liwanag at Dilim (2025), Void Voyage continues that narrative. This time, it stands at the entrance of a
darker side.
I move inward slowly, with more intention, toward parts of myself I’m ready to face. Not everything at once,
just bit by bit. The void here is not about absence, but depth. It is a space that holds its own kind of weight,
something I am still learning to understand. Maybe not to tame, but to live with. It feels like something that
has always been there, just becoming clearer over time.
Even in that space, I don’t see darkness as something separate. Light is still there, even if it’s faint. It feels
like the only way to find any kind of clarity is to actually move through it.
The works still sit in that tension. Light and dark exist at the same time, not really as opposites, but as
something entangled within my own universe. You’ll see it in how monochromatic values move across the
canvas, shifting between contrast and coexistence.
These pieces come from hesitation, limbo, past experiences, and quiet fear. They take things apart slowly
instead of trying to resolve everything all at once.
Void Voyage is about having the courage to sit with your own darkness, trusting the process, and allowing
healing to take shape.
