Plèïade, in Greek mythology, means a constellation of seven stars. In literary history, it is the name given to the seven ancient poets of Alexandria who lived during 300 B.C. In French literature, Plèïade pertains to the seven great poets of the French Renaissance. Today, Plèïade means a group of individuals adjudged remarkable in their fields.Altro Mondo’s inaugural exhibition features 13 established Filipino artists: Romulo Galicano, Roberto Feleo, Julie Lluch, Justin Nuyda, Gabriel Barredo, Ramon Orlina, Ofelia Gelvezon-Tequi, Fernando Modesto, Norberto Carating, Nestor Vinluan, Mario de Rivera, R.M. de Leon, and Eghai Roxas, and two international artists, namely, Etienne Gros of France, and Francisco Sepulveda of Chile.
