The Selection is Altro Mondo’s annual exhibition that brings to light works from the gallery’s backroom, pieces chosen not for their volume, but for their quiet resonance. This year’s edition, Tones for Weathered Silence, gathers a collection of paintings and objects unified by muted shades of blue and a sense of stillness.
Artists such as J Consunji, Bea Aspiras, Joar Songcuya, and Pey Raymond present works that lean into subtlety rather than statement. From Absolution (I Surrender) to Calm Journey, each piece invites contemplation over clarity, and suggestion over certainty. Blue becomes a tone of reflection, at once distant and deeply felt.
In these works, the atmosphere speaks louder than the narrative. The silence is not empty, but weathered, carrying with it the traces of time, thought, and feeling. Tones for Weathered Silence offers a space where the viewer may pause, not to decipher meaning, but to dwell in it.
