Altro Mondo · Arte Contemporaneo is pleased to present PADAYON, the first solo exhibition of Gerecho Iniel Cruz, on view at 4th Floor Art Gallery at The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences, 119 L.P. Leviste St., Salcedo Village, Makati City starting August 20, 2013.

Cruz’s thought provoking work utilizes black and white lines of acrylic on canvas to reflect the movements of water and its harmonious relationship with nature. This particular element, both advantageous and disadvantageous as a subject, explores human nature’s adaptability and coexistence with the rest of nature.

By investigating nature’s dependence on water, Cruz brings forth the element’s intrinsic qualities and forms, exploring its structure, malleability, and vitality. This reliance pushes the boundaries of obsession, making water an essential element from the beginning of life, until its end.
