In Light Sings, Regina Arambulo-McAndrew reflects on the quiet interplay between time, memory, and identity. Born in the Philippines and now dividing her time between Edinburgh and Manila, her practice bridges cultures and emotional landscapes, drawing on both personal history and a painterly lineage rooted in the Baroque.

Her floral compositions become meditations on remembrance, each petal and shadow echoing the way memory surfaces and fades. Through a restrained palette and the luminous fall of light, she captures moments when something long-forgotten reawakens, revealing emotion through illumination.

Having studied at Otis Parsons in Los Angeles, Parsons in Paris, and the Leith School of Art, Arambulo-McAndrew brings a nuanced understanding of form and feeling to her work. Once an art director and creative director, she now channels her sensitivity to visual rhythm into painting, where light itself becomes her subject, and memory, her quiet refrain.
