The artist was born on June 20, 1994 in Sta. Cruz Manila and was raised in Calauag, Quezon, where he learned and honed most of his abilities.

Growing up as an observant child, Joel developed the aptitude of seeing things in a different way. This made him want to display reality in a way that is seemingly impossible in real life. He believes that it is not always necessary to portray what he sees, he put into masterpieces how these things made him feel.

At the age of 21, he discovered his style wherein he was able to reveal his own sentiments in the best possible way. Working in acrylics, he uses unique colors, textures, nondescript shapes, and line arrangements – turning it into a uniquely expressive form in order to show the real value of his works.
