Altro Mondo

Altro Mondo, Italian for “other world”, communicates the idea of the gallery as a space that transports artist and audience to another reality – the reality that art represents.

Since 2010, Altro Mondo has hosted solo and group exhibitions from Filipino and international artists that highlights its progressive role in the contemporary art community in the Philippines.

By virtue of the diversity and quality of its exhibitions as well as other art-related activities, Altro Mondo seeks to carve its niche at the intersection of critical and cultural exchange. In line with this, the gallery often partners with its compatriots in the industry, from independent curators to artist collectives, institutions, writers, art critics, fellow galleries and museums and corporate entities.

The gallery also participates in a number of local (Art Fair Philippines, Manila Art, and Art in the Park) and international art events in Singapore and China playing host to its choice of Filipino and foreign artists.

Creative Space

Altro Mondo dedicates itself to the promotion of established Filipino artists and the appropriate charting of the careers of emergent ones through very selective exhibitions, museum representations, international art fairs, and collaborations with prestigious international galleries.

As such, in 2019, Altro Mondo launched its state of the art 800sqm Creative Space along Chino Roces street in Makati where it will continue hosting shows from local and international contemporary artists as well as provide a venue for conferences and artist residencies.

Altro Mondo Creative Space is located at 1159 Chino Roces ave., Brgy. San Antonio, Makati City. Tuesday to Saturday, 10AM to 5PM.

The Picasso

In 2013, Altro Mondo’s second gallery at the Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences located at the heart of Salcedo Village in Makati was launched. The 9-storey boutique hotel features art by Altro Mondo in all its public spaces, and a 80-square meter art gallery on the third floor.

Altro Mondo at the Picasso focuses on exhibitions by up-and-coming artists that wish to be experimental in their craft. The gallery is a flexible space composed of two identical rooms which make it a perfect venue for simultaneous exhibitions. The Picasso gallery welcomes art installations and performance art of all kinds.
